Questions

How is it different from Sambar Masala?

This is the tiffin sambar: milder and less sour, with a touch of sweetness, for idly and dosa. Sambar Masala is the thicker, spicier lunch sambar for rice.

Do I need to add tamarind or salt?

No. Tamarind and salt are already in the masala, balanced for you. Adding more makes it too sour or salty.

Why does my sambar taste raw?

The masala needs a proper boil. After you add it, let the sambar boil till the raw masala smell is gone.

100 g or 50 g?

Same masala. 100 g serves 16 and 50 g serves 8.

How do I store it?

Close the pack tightly after use and always use a dry spoon, so the masala doesn't form lumps.

How spicy is it?
