Recipe Fails. On the ones that don’t make it.
Over the course of the last two years, we’ve published over a thousand recipes. And for these recipes, we’ve received a lot of love, a little bit of hate and everything else in between. But what about those that haven’t seen the light of social media – the failed recipes?
Although it isn’t too common, there comes along a dish every now and then, that turns out misshapen, miscoloured, un-aesthetic, or even outright inedible (gasp!). The usual culprits are dessert recipes that require setting time and gelatin, doughs with varying consistencies, and recipes from exotic/uncommon cuisines.
One such dish that has been haunting our chefs for quite a while is our beloved East-Indian dessert – Rasgulla or Roshogulla. We’ve had several recipe trials, but have been unable to land on a perfect recipe that is easily replicable at home. If all goes well, you’d see us releasing the recipe as part of our Diwali playlist!
So the next time you make something at home and everything doesn’t go according to plan, don’t be disheartened. If a team of professional chefs (sounds too braggy?) can make blunders, then so can you!
