Best Food To Cure A Hangover
They say that drinking is like borrowing happiness from the next day – It’s a lot of fun while you’re doing it, but the next morning consists of a bad headache, nausea and being super tired (at least for some!).
Now, the best way to avoid a hangover is obviously to not drink. But since we all know that’s very unlikely, here’s what else you can do to get rid of that nasty hangover.
Prevention is definitely better than cure, so let’s look at how to avoid a bad hangover in the first place. Before drinking alcohol, eat food that is high in carbohydrates and fat. This reduces the alcohol absorption in your body and prevents low blood sugar.
The main culprit behind hangovers is dehydration. So to avoid this, drink PLENTY of water while drinking. Try to drink a glass of water after every drink, and you will thank yourself the next morning. Now, this is something I do every time I drink, and I can definitely vouch for this method.
Now, if you already have a hangover, here’s what you can do to cure it. The first thing is water, of course! There are a few other ingredients that can make you feel better – honey, eggs, bananas & other fruits.
Honey helps your body to burn off the alcohol faster, due to the sugar content in it. It also raises your blood sugar levels to normal levels. Fruits also do this, due to the natural sugar present in them (fructose). Bananas help you feel, move and think better, because of their high potassium content.
My personal go-to is to make a HANGOVER CURE SMOOTHIE using the following:
1 banana
1 tbsp of honey
1 cup of Milk/Water
Now no more drinking, waking up with a hangover, swearing you’ll never drink again, and then repeating everything the next day!
Go have fun & drink responsibly!
